About the theme:

Our theme for September is REFLECTION.

It was chosen by our Oklahoma City chapter and illustrated by Aditi Heins.

Just like an echo is a reflection of sound… and how a camera lens focuses reflected light to form a photograph… our subconscious reflects on our experiences to form our beliefs.

Reflection turns our traumas and triumphs into lessons. It’s how we can create a vision for a brighter future.

Reflection is one of the most important tools when starting a new journey. Stories, songs, and dances have been used by Indigenous people all throughout turtle island as a way to learn and to do better. Come sit with us and learn more about Indigenous ways to reflect and how we can go back to the land to strengthen all relationships. We will share stories and knowledge, and maybe sing a song or two. Our goal is to create an informative discussion and start strengthening our communities and communication.
