About the speaker
Lou Lenzi is the Design Director at GE Appliances, where he is responsible for all industrial design, user interface design, and user experience design activities for GE’s $5.7 billion major appliance business. Prior to joining GE Appliances in March 2011, Lou held senior design leadership positions with IBM, RCA, Thomson, Audiovox, and GE Healthcare.
Over the course of his career, Lou’s design teams have received numerous design and innovation awards from the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), the Consumer Electronics Association, and a Design-of-the-Decade award from BusinessWeek for the DirecTV on-screen user interface and program guide.
Lou has served as IDSA IDEA Awards Chair, been profiled by Fortune magazine, and has lectured on product design and innovation at UCLA’s School of Architecture, Harvard Business School and MIT. Lou is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a BS in Industrial Design and is a member of the Academy of Fellows of the Industrial Design Society of America.
