🎵 Performance by Ekho the Poet

Ekho, a Brooklyn poet, is an acclaimed spoken word artist whose name has become synonymous with power, rhythm, and truth. She co-founded Thee Den, one of New York City's largest underground open mics, alongside other incredible spoken word artists, drawing monthly crowds of over 300 people. A force within the slam poetry scene, she earned her stripes as a member of the renowned 2015 Nuyorican Poets Café Slam Team that went on to a top 5 national finish at the National Poetry Slam.
She has been featured on stages across the country, including the world famous Lincoln Center, Write About Now, and Lit Lounge, a show curated by literary legend Mocha Ochoa. She has also graced stages with the hosts of The Soapbox Presents, served as a resident artist for the Music Café Poetry Tour, and performed at artist release events for Lupe Fiasco. Throughout her career, Ekho has been mentored by celebrated poet Mahogany L. Browne, whose mentorship helped her sharpen her voice and deepen her craft.
With two books to her name, including Ingredients, a collection titled in tribute to her signature practice of naming poems after food, Ekho continues to craft work that blends authenticity, precision, and emotional depth. In 2026, she will debut Food for Thought, a cinematic reinterpretation of her most powerful works, blending poetry and visual storytelling in a format that lifts spoken word beyond the stage.
