part of a series on Layers

About the speaker

Lydia Kimaka is a debut author whose memoir, Be Happy My Daughter – Provoked to Healing Through Motherhood, offers an intimate exploration of the complexities and layers of life. Through her writing, she shares her deeply personal journey of self-discovery, shedding light on the experiences that have shaped her into the woman she is today.

With a deep passion for holistic wellness, Lydia believes in the power of integrating mind, body, and spirit to achieve true well-being. As she navigates her final year as a nursing student, her dedication to compassionate care fuels her mission to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Beyond her writing and nursing studies, Lydia is the founder of "!smile", a charitable organization that provides financial assistance for education and basic needs to vulnerable children and their families. Whether through her foundation, her work in healthcare, or her storytelling, Lydia is committed to empowering others and creating a lasting, positive impact.
