About the speaker

Join us on January 20 for a marvelous start into 2023 – the visionary architect and creative entrepreneur Key Kawamura from Studio Banana is speaking!

And yes, finally we’re back with an English edition and we’re back at launchlabs Basel in Gundeldingerfeld.

Key will be speaking on the grand topic of SANCTUARY. Granting a genuine feeling of protection is one of architecture's primary roles. Through several examples we will explore the notion of sanctuary as a place that offers refuge, and we will see how certain symbols, shapes and spatial configurations are intuitively conducive to this sense of protection and inner community.

Can we create a universal sense of sanctuary or is this feeling culturally specific? We’re looking forward to discussing this fascinating subject together.

See you soon on January 20 at launchlabs Basel.
