About the speaker

Katrien van Beurden creates performances at universities,  refugee camps, slums, cities and abandoned villages around the world. She depicts the world with archetypical tragicomical universal masks  that represents archetypes to create a contemporary theatre.

With her company ‘Theatre Hotel Courage’ she develops authentic and beautiful stories  from around the world that transcend time, space, and culture.  With the universality of these characters we see a theatre where we can laugh and cry  about how we try to survive in the world today.
