About the speaker

Meet Kathy Tran, a Dallas-based photographer with a passion for life and capturing slices of it through her lens, with over 15 years of experience in the field. Photography has been her only job, and she brings a wealth of experience to each project. With a versatile range of photography styles, Kathy has had the opportunity to work with a variety of clients, including notable publications such as Dallas Observer, D Magazine, Advocate Magazine, Plano Magazine, Billboard, People, and Bloomberg. As well as Bishop TD Jake’s personal photographer.

She is a Vietnamese-American photographer whose passion for capturing life's moments has been inspired by her family's unique journey to America. Kathy's grandfather fought alongside Americans in the Vietnam War and was granted the opportunity to move his family to the US. Growing up, Kathy was the first-born Vietnamese-American in her family. She was then adopted by her elementary school counselor at 14. Since then she has blended her Asian and American families together.

Kathy's photography is a reflection of her personal story, her love for life, and her dedication to capturing the beauty of the world around her. She is a versatile photographer, with experience in food and beverage, portraits, interiors, journalism assignments, editorial, commercial projects, branding, events, weddings, and street styles. Kathy is easy to work with and is known for her professionalism, positive attitude, and timely delivery.
