About the speaker

Kamica King, MA, MT-BC is a Texas-based singer-songwriter, multidisciplinary artist, and board-certified music therapist whose work spans the U.S., South America, Africa, and the Caribbean. Known for her radiant stage presence and folk/soul sound influenced by jazz, hip-hop, and her Afro-Caribbean heritage, Kamica blends performance, wellness, and education into experiences that foster creativity, reflection, and connection—rooted in the power of the arts for healing and social impact.
She offers keynotes, concerts, interactive workshops, and consulting across cultural institutions, nonprofits, and community spaces, with features by TEDx, the Kennedy Center, and the Texas Commission on the Arts. Kamica has served as a U.S. Cultural Ambassador and holds a Master’s in Music/Music Therapy from Texas Woman’s University. Over the years, she has supported and expanded music therapy programming for organizations including UT Southwestern Medical Center and The Bridge Homeless Recovery Center. She is currently developing a historical documentary on the legacy of Black women in music therapy.
