Kalela Williams is a proud auntie, a cat mama, a "Black History Maven," and with the October 15 publication of her first book, Tangleroot, an author. She directs Virginia Humanities' Virginia Center for the Book, and she is a partner in life and arts administration to Davey White and their Staunton arts organization, The Off Center.
