About the speaker

Cansu Pylkkänen & Svetlana Sharifulina

Cansu Pylkkänen is a Helsinki-based architect, artist, and performer whose work spans photography, film, painting, stand-up comedy, and performance art. Founder of Ego Død Studio and a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Helsinki, she blends technical expertise with artistic expression to explore creativity in all its forms.

Svetlana Sharifulina, Ph.D. in Biophysics and neuroscience expert, is a DEIB and Neurodiversity advisor, mentor, and leadership coach. As co-founder of AiLobe Health and co-producer of Helsinki’s inclusive stand-up league for women and LGBTQ+ comedians, she uses humor to foster connection, challenge norms, and amplify underrepresented voices.

Together, Cansu and Svetlana will delve into comedy as a powerful creativity tool, sharing their journeys and the collective story of their comedy community. Beyond laughter, they reveal how humor can spark imagination, dismantle stereotypes, and create belonging, especially for women and LGBTQ+ voices.
