About the speaker
After making a tonne of (somewhat questionable) films throughout his childhood,
Josh got a place at the Newport Film School where he would graduate with a BA
(Hons) in Documentary Film & TV. In his 3rd year, Josh started an online music
channel called BEDROOM LIVE; a concept that bred a TV pilot and went on tour
around the UK, winning two Royal Television Society Awards.
Upon graduating, he went on to produce and direct the ultra-low-budget (£4k!)
independent feature film, THE BETTER MAN, which went on to win the Welsh
Dragon Award at the 2013 Newport International Film Festival and Best Comedy at
the 2014 American Online Film Awards.
Directing and shooting the majority of S&S’s award-winning back catalogue, Josh
has experience in many genres and methods of filmmaking, all whilst waving his
arms around like creatives do, with his curly hair and tweed jackets.
Mac is an award-winning and BBC credited Creative Director with a passion for storytelling who has been making films since he was 5 years old.
His credits range from narrative film to both the commercial and corporate sector working for brands such as Oak Furnitureland and Tails.com.
His latest film "Jackdaw" was commissioned by BBC Cymru and funded by the National Lottery, BFI Network and Ffilm Cymru is currently touring festivals worldwide and was broadcast on BBC and BBC IPlayer in 2022 and nominated for a BAFTA Cymru award.
