About the speaker

Over the last half-decade, Jonas Chisolm has worn many hats in Raleigh. In the summer of 2020, he helped create The Raleigh Tee, an early pandemic charity campaign crafted out of desperation to raise money for recently laid-off restaurant and music venue employees. That same summer, he founded New South Collective, a short-lived but successful mutual aid organization dedicated to tangibly changing the lives of our most marginalized community members, with a focus on housing. This eventually led to a housing project that built out a school bus into a home, with help from dozens of volunteers from all over the state and over 10k in donations. Today, Jonas is the talent buyer for The Pour House Record Shop & Music Hall.

His newest project, Double Dutch, is an event management company hoping to bridge the gap between Raleigh events in the heart of downtown and the black community that’s often cast aside. He hopes now to pay it forward for the next generation of musicians while working in lock-step with the community that’s loved and accepted him for so many years.
