About the speaker

Reut Sorek-Abramovich, PhD, is a research fellow at The Dead Sea and Arava Science Center, working on microbes who live in extreme environments. I am a space entrepreneur – bridging and melting together science, education and technology to create innovative projects. For the past two years I am head of science at the Desert Mars Analog Ramon Station association, promoting space simulation missions in the Makhtesh Ramon (Ramon Crater). I am also a core lecturer in the International Space University summer space programs (France), and teach talented youth in the Young Astronaut Academy program, at the Davidson Institute for Science Education, at the Weizmann Institute, Rehovot. I have co- founded the Israeli Mars Society in 2017, to promote public engagement in our future on Mars. Reut has appeared in space related conferences, seminars, tv spots, podcasts, public outreach events, lectures and more.
