IMAN founded his Punk band, Iman’s League, almost two decades ago, and just completed his first Europe tour. Rock n roll with him at this month’s talk!

About the speaker

Iman, born Nuriman Bin Mohd Nor, is a Singapore-based musician, full-time educator, and father of two. Best known as the frontman of the iconic punk rock band Iman’s League, he
has been a key figure in the Southeast Asian punk scene for over two decades.

Iman discovered punk rock music at the age of 13, inspired by legendary bands like Green Day, The Ramones, and The Clash. Though rooted in punk, his musical journey began in a heavy metal band where he played bass. At 14, he performed his first live gig, marking the start of a lifelong passion for the stage.
He later formed his first band, Frosty Mug, a punk rock and roll outfit where he took on the roles of frontman and guitarist. Over 10 years, the band released two albums before parting ways due to internal commitments. Iman then joined the veteran local punk band Rancour as a guitarist and keyboardist. During this period, he wrote several songs that would become the foundation of his next major project — Iman’s League. The band was officially formed in 2008 as a three-piece, with Iman handling songwriting and recording all the instruments for their debut release.

Over the next 17 years, Iman’s League released seven albums and built a reputation for high-energy performances across Asia and Australia. They’ve shared stages with international acts such as Neck Deep, All Time Low, and were selected as the opening act for Green Day’s Singapore concert in 2020 — a show sadly cancelled due to the pandemic. In June 2025, the band will make their long-awaited European debut, performing 10 shows across four countries.

Outside of his band work, Iman has also developed a distinctive solo acoustic sound, releasing three albums under the mononym IMAN, with a fourth slated for release in August
2025.

With his roots in punk and heart in storytelling, Iman con5nues to inspire both in the classroom and on stage — blending music, passion, and purpose into every note.
