About the speaker

CreativeMornings and L'Alliance New York present Hali Lee!

Hali Lee believes generosity is something we build together. A longtime leader in collective giving, she has spent the past two decades helping people pool their resources, power, and care to create meaningful change in their communities, often starting with small shared acts that grow into something much bigger.

Nearly twenty years ago, she founded the Asian Women Giving Circle, which has since distributed over $1 million in grants supporting cultural projects led by Asian American and Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities. She later helped launch Philanthropy Together, a national effort to grow the collective giving movement, and co-founded the Donors of Color Network, the first national network of high-net-worth donors of color. Across all of her work is a shared belief that when people come together and give what they can, real and lasting change becomes possible.

Named to the inaugural TIME100 Philanthropy list, Hali is also the author of The Big We, a book that celebrates everyday people gathering around kitchen tables and in community spaces to move their values into action. Through her work and storytelling, she invites us to see generosity not as something reserved for a few, but as a shared practice that can strengthen community and help us imagine a more connected future.

She lives in Brooklyn with her family, a very lovable dog, and rooftop honey bees.
