Designer and entrepreneur Nina Jatuli shares lessons on creative growth, balancing passion and business, and staying curious and fearless in an ever-changing career.
About the speaker
Nina Jatuli (MA) is a Finnish designer and creative whose work spans fashion, costume design, and commercial product development. She began her career designing bespoke eveningwear before moving into the commercial fashion world, eventually founding her namesake label Jatuli in 2010 after graduating from Aalto University.
Jatuli is a fashion brand founded by designer Nina Jatuli in 2010, with collections that flow seamlessly from raw, street-inspired silhouettes to unique evening gowns featuring surprising, intricate details. Her creations—bursting with bold prints and strong color contrasts—reflect both Nordic melancholy and historical references. Hidden motifs often reveal themselves within her patterns, emerging only when you look beyond the first layer; a balance of mystique and stark, graphic everyday reality is always present.
Nina’s creative journey has also taken her far beyond the traditional fashion sphere. She has worked in the gaming industry with Rovio’s Angry Birds, managing global licensing—a role that took her around the world. Since 2015, she has devoted herself full-time to developing the Jatuli brand, bringing her distinctive aesthetic to life through clothing, accessories, and multidisciplinary artistic collaborations.
