Glasgow Soundbath: ‘Soft’ Event

House of Toad

part of a series on Soft

About the speaker

Iain is a Glasgow-based experimental musician with a long history in exploratory sound. Around ten years ago, after experiencing unusual energetic phenomena first hand, he undertook training in energy healing alongside his music practice. During training he met artist Leslie Deere who shared a similar background in experimental music and fascination with Deep Listening and the more subtle effects of sound.

Together they formed Glasgow Soundbath in 2022 as a natural bridge between the two parallel practices, building a carefully tuned instrument setup and welcoming, contemplative atmospheres. In 2024 Leslie moved to London to take up a Post-Doctoral position at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Iain took the project forward, running sessions across the city and developing it into a full-time practice. He continues to compose and release music alongside this work.

Additional details

To bring more softness into our lives we have Iain Ross, co-founder of Glasgow Soundbath, joining us this month to give us a 30-40 minute taster session of the soundbath experience.

It’s recommended you lie down for the soundbath, and if you’d like to do this please bring your own yoga mat if you can. There will be a small number of mats at the event but if you can bring one that makes sure there’s enough for everyone. You can also bring a blanket and eyemask if you like, although these are optional.

Don’t fancy lying down? No problemo, you can take part using a chair.

Tickets for this event will be extremely limited, so please only book if you can definitely make it along. If your plans change and you can’t come please make sure to release your ticket so someone else can take the spot.
