About the speaker

Born in Tirana, Gentian Doda has forged a distinguished career performing with Europe’s leading dance companies and collaborating with iconic choreographers such as Nacho Duato, Maurice Béjart, Mats Ek, William Forsythe, Ohad Naharin and others.
His choreographic debut with the Compañía Nacional de Danza in 2005 marked the beginning of an acclaimed journey, exploring the complexities of the human condition through movement. Over the years, he has created works for renowned institutions including The Juilliard School, Staatsballett Berlin, Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, and the Greek National Ballet, among others.

As the founder of was bleibt kollektiv | Gentian Doda, he leads a multidisciplinary team of artists, blending history and innovation across dance, visual art, and film. In 2024, he participated in the Biennale di Venezia Arte, collaborating with the Mexico Pavilion, and recently premiered the short film “303”.

Doda’s work has earned critical acclaim from audiences and dance critics alike, receiving numerous awards for both choreography and film. These include the First Choreographic Awards in Copenhagen and Hannover, the Scapino Production Prize, Best Direction at the WILDsound Festival, Best Experimental Short at the European Short Film Festival, and recognition as a finalist for the New European Bauhaus Prizes 2023, among others.
