What are FieldTrips?
FieldTrips are meetups to interact, learn and collaborate in an effort to level-up your creative life. Built on top of our 20,000 monthly attendees at CreativeMornings talks, FieldTrips are community-organized events built on the spirit of generosity that has powered CreativeMornings events for the past 10 years.
We’re limiting these events to only 25 people, they’re like an intimate dinner party. Your absence will be felt so please make sure that you can definitely attend if you sign up. Also, we’re in the prototyping phase, so come with an open mind and be prepared for anything.
Thanks for participating! We’re lucky to have you.
Fortlandia: Your Secret Hideout Awaits!
October 5, 8:00am - 9:30am CDT. Hosted at Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center
About this FieldTrip
Each fort has been custom-built to evoke memories of childhoods spent escaping into nature and daydreaming outdoors. Delight in these innovative spaces as they transport you to fantastic imaginary worlds and inspire an appreciation for art and nature — and the curious, wonderful ways in which they intersect.
On this CreativeMornings FieldTrip you will be among the first to tour this original exhibition in the Texas Arboretum. Interact with the forts and let your imagination soar in our fort-building area where you can design and erect your own work of architectural wonder. Several of the designers will be on-hand to talk about their designs with us!
Wear shoes that are comfortable for walking on gravel and mulch. The trail is wheelchair accessible.

The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is dedicated to using native plants to restore and create healthy, beautiful landscapes. We carry out our mission to inspire the conservation of native plants through our gardens, research, education, consulting and outreach programs. In doing so, we improve water quality, provide habitat for wildlife and enhance human health and happiness. Founded in 1982 by Lady Bird Johnson and Helen Hayes, this special place exists to introduce people to the beauty and diversity of wildflowers and other native plants. Every day, the Wildflower Center brings life to Mrs. Johnson’s vision through its public gardens, woodlands and sweeping meadows, and internationally influential research. In 2006, the Center became an organized research unit of The University of Texas at Austin and in 2017 was named the official state Botanic Garden and Arboretum of Texas.
