Meet Em Bowen
Em Bowen is an educator, writer, business owner, and movement coach. They are also the host and creator of the stand-up comedy show, "The Liberal Agenda," at Crooked Tooth Brewery. As a doctoral candidate at the University of Arizona College of Education, they study the ways in which trans and queer educators engage care as part of their approach to teaching.
Care and embodied knowledge frequently frame Em’s world view and practices as a creative, performer, and teacher. They believe that how which we both understand and practice care, for ourselves and in community, is central to dreaming and enacting new ways of being in the complex and often difficult times we live in. When Em gets a free moment or two, they love competing in endurance events, slinging barbells around, and trying new things.
