About the speaker
Ending the disability stigma, one accessible journey at a time
Emily Rose Yates is a 27 year old accessibility consultant, travel writer and presenter currently living in Glasgow after dividing her time between the UK and Rio de Janeiro, where she worked with the underground transport system in order to promote inclusion for the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Emily campaigns for disability rights in the UK and works for a charity called Enhance the UK, where she gives motivational talks and delivers disability awareness training in schools, businesses and other organisations, including The National Gallery, Scope and the BBC to name a few. Alongside hair dye and colourful clothes, travel is where Emily’s passion really lies. She was the first wheelchair user to cross the Sinai Desert, and has lived and worked in Australia, China, southern Africa, Bali and Brazil.

BRINGING BROSS BAGELS TO EDINBURGH. Instead of complaining about the lack of bagels this country has to offer – founder Larah Bross decided to do something about it. Working closely with local initiative Breadshare, Bross Bagels aims to bring authentic bagels to Edinburgh and beyond. Our rustic bagels are available to buy by the dozen or filled with some NY deli inspired fillings from our shop in Portobello and Leith.
The Milkman provides Edinburgh with a progressive speciality coffee experience, blending its architectural heritage and background with contemporary coffee culture. Enjoy the house roast from Edinburgh’s Obadiah Collective or sample the ever changing rotation of filters on offer, most recently from Bonanza, Girls Who Grind and Brew Project.
We are back from our summer break and launching a brand new partnership with BoConcept and will be holding this event in their beautiful showroom on Rose Street. See you at breakfast! Lift access is available on-demand, please sign in at the BoConcept desk and we’ll take you up if needed.
