Your Host

Exa Kutler

Former Head of Community at CreativeMornings.

Brooklyn

I’m Exa, based in Brooklyn, where I work as the Head of Community at CreativeMornings.

At the heart of my work is a desire to support adults in feeling confident, curious, and compassionate in the face of creative learning, personal reflection, and everyday life.

I live in Brooklyn with my dog Jack Charles. I love sparkles, making indiepop music, and I draw cartoons with a non-binary character named bean, and help out with The Strangers Project.

About this FieldTrip

Join us for a special surprise addition to our “Designing Impactful Virtual Workshops” series!

We’re thrilled to host an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session with Exa, a seasoned expert in design, education, and workshop facilitation. This is your chance to ask any lingering questions, dive deeper into the workshop topics, and get valuable insights from Exa.

🎥 To catch up on the last four sessions, learn more about the 4-part series, and sign up for the other FieldTrips in the series, check out this little blog post. You’ll find slides, recordings, and more there!

✨WHAT TO EXPECT

✔️ No pre-planned presentation here, just 100% Q&A with Exa & the community (we know you have wisdom too!)

❤️ OPTIONAL POST-FIELDTRIP BREAKOUTS:

The FieldTrip itself will run for 60-minutes with an option for 15-minutes of breakout rooms after the event. This time will be protected for those who would like to explore or integrate in community with one another.

As the Head of FieldTrips at CreativeMornings, I’ve supported hundreds of Virtual Learning Experiences from facilitators worldwide. I’ve also built the best practices of the program through codes of conduct, host handbooks, and strategic scaffolding.

My work at FieldTrips reflects my desire to support adults in feeling confident, curious, and compassionate in the face of creative learning, personal reflection, and everyday life.

How to make the most of FieldTrips

The FieldTrips experience is defined not only by what the host has to share, but also by how we show up individually and collectively. The way we show up impacts our capacity to be moved, inspired, and activated.

Show up fully

Get ready to be immersed! Engage with smiles, nods, waves, emojis. Share in the chat. Get cozy. Turn off notifications. Sip your favorite beverage.

Stay curious

Wear your beginner’s hat. Go with the flow. Welcome the stumbles and fumbles. Congratulate yourself for trying. Keep going!

Celebrate your host

Our hosts are members of the CreativeMornings community—just like you! Everyone comes to this with different backgrounds—a lot of our hosts have never done anything like this before! And we love that! Cheer them on when something goes awry and when it goes perfectly.

Support each other

We’re all figuring things out in real time. Celebrate, rather than critique emerging ideas. Cheer each other on as you try new things.  Try “Yes! And…” in conversation.

Not vibing?

It’s 100% okay when a FieldTrip does not resonate with you. Pop out quietly and try another experience later. Fill out the survey with your feedback (no dms to host or chat commentary, please.)
