Exa Kutler

Former Head of Community at CreativeMornings.

Brooklyn

I’m Exa, based in Brooklyn, where I work as the Head of Community at CreativeMornings.

At the heart of my work is a desire to support adults in feeling confident, curious, and compassionate in the face of creative learning, personal reflection, and everyday life.

I live in Brooklyn with my dog Jack Charles. I love sparkles, making indiepop music, and I draw cartoons with a non-binary character named bean, and help out with The Strangers Project.

About this FieldTrip

In this workshop, we’ll dive into how to create inclusive containers for participants, explore the Title & Event Descriptions for our workshops, then, Using Adobe Express, we’ll tinker with slide and banner designs for presentation and promotion.

✨WHAT TO EXPECT

✔️ With our content ready to go, it’s time to layout your presentation design and marketing. In this session we’ll tap into all things ATMOSPHERE including:

✔️ How to create safe containers for participants, and how to think expansively about the needs of participants.

✔️ How to set expectations using a thoughtful formula for event title and descriptions

✔️ How to use slides effectively (if using them at all!)

✔️ How to create a consistent and aligned visual aesthetic for your experience —  with promo (before), for slides (during), and for recaps (after).

✔️ By the end of the FieldTrip, you’ll be ready for Session 4, where I’ll show you all of my favorite Zoom tricks so you can host a smooth as silk virtual experience.

❤️ OPTIONAL POST-FIELDTRIP BREAKOUTS:

The FieldTrip itself will run for 75-minutes with an option for 15-minutes of breakout rooms after the event. This time will be protected for those who would like to explore or integrate in community with one another.

🎒WHAT TO KNOW OR BRING

✔️ I recommend you check out the materials and recording from Session 1 & 2 — however, anyone is welcome, and you’ll be able to learn and do the exercises regardless!

✔️ Bring any idea that you have for a FieldTrip or Virtual Workshop!

✔️ Markers, Paper, things to get crafty with!

✔️ We’ll be using Adobe Express (it’s free!) for our interactive templates. Take a look around and tinker before the FieldTrip so you can get familiar with some of the features!

How to make the most of FieldTrips

The FieldTrips experience is defined not only by what the host has to share, but also by how we show up individually and collectively. The way we show up impacts our capacity to be moved, inspired, and activated.

Show up fully

Get ready to be immersed! Engage with smiles, nods, waves, emojis. Share in the chat. Get cozy. Turn off notifications. Sip your favorite beverage.

Stay curious

Wear your beginner’s hat. Go with the flow. Welcome the stumbles and fumbles. Congratulate yourself for trying. Keep going!

Celebrate your host

Our hosts are members of the CreativeMornings community—just like you! Everyone comes to this with different backgrounds—a lot of our hosts have never done anything like this before! And we love that! Cheer them on when something goes awry and when it goes perfectly.

Support each other

We’re all figuring things out in real time. Celebrate, rather than critique emerging ideas. Cheer each other on as you try new things.  Try “Yes! And…” in conversation.

Not vibing?

It’s 100% okay when a FieldTrip does not resonate with you. Pop out quietly and try another experience later. Fill out the survey with your feedback (no dms to host or chat commentary, please.)
