About the speaker

Bob Bonder was born in Denver but spent his childhood growing up in New York. After graduating from Cornell with a degree in Biometrics, he worked as a strategy and marketing analytics consultant in New York and San Francisco. Bob helped to build and finance a number of medical device companies that focused on spinal surgery. At one point, he even left the states to open a luxury bed and breakfast in Brazil, which ultimately failed. After coming back to the states, he decided to open a coffee company here in Cincinnati called Tazza Mia and after a while joined with a business partner to open 1215 Wine Bar. After leaving 1215 Wine Bar, Bob became one of the founders on Rhinegeist.

Rhinegeist is one of Cincinnati’s newest breweries, built within the skeleton of the old Moerlein bottling plant (built in 1895). Means “ghost of the Rhine”, the name Rhinegeist refers to their place in the historic Brewery District in the Over the Rhine neighborhood of Cincinnati. At the turn of the century, the neighborhood was home to nearly 45,000 inhabitants, most of them of German descent and 38 breweries. Working as friends and business partners, Bob Bonder and Bryant Goulding are building on the history and a sense of pride within our city.
