Darren Cheng

Darren Cheng is the Executive Director of Direct Funeral Services. He holds a Masters in Counselling from the Swinburne University of Technology and a bachelor degree in arts for Psychology from NUS. He was a psychotherapist with 8 years of experience, dealing best with depression, insomnia and children issues.

Darren will be speaking about how he transformed a traditional Funeral Services business to an industry leader through the use of design.

On top of that, Darren has been instrumental in introducing different methods that helps
families to cope and come to terms with the demise of their loved ones. He has written a
children book titled: “Where Did Grandpa Go?” to help children understand the concept of Death. Together with his wife Jenny, he has also co-authored the book “Last Wishes” this book helps people who are looking to plan for the inevitable and includes information on estate planning, will writing and funeral planning.

In 2016, he co-founded Direct Life Foundation, which aims to improve the quality of lives of people through education, activities and charitable efforts.

He strongly believes that every one has a story to tell and wants to seek out meaningful ways to honour them.
