I’m a Creativity Coach and Teacher who believes picking up the paintbrush is more important that what you produce with it! I use mixed media and art journaling to encourage others to play, and to find delight and freedom in their own creativity.

About this FieldTrip

Setting an intention each month can bring clarity and focus to the time. Centering that intention around a specific word along with a visual reminder can make it even more powerful. Together we will create a deck of 12 cards that is colorful and simple to make.

Each card will hold your word, the name of the month and a place to add journaling. Ideas for how to choose words will be shared along with a PDF of word choices and the months to make it quick and easy to add to your cards.

✨WHAT TO EXPECT

✔️ We will start on a single piece of thicker paper of your choice that will be divided up into 12 sections with pencil.

✔️ We will then play by adding watercolor, doodle marks, stamping and/or stenciling to create a colorful mixed media background. The choice of supplies is yours and makes it personal to your style of art.

✔️ Plan to finish the background during our time together.

✔️Cutting the cards apart and adding in the months/intention words will be optional during the call depending on time!

✔️I will also share how to add the journaling aspect to the cards.

✔️There will be time at the end for anyone that wants to share their creation.

🎒WHAT TO KNOW OR BRING

✔️ Supply list: A single piece of paper of your choice and size. I’m going to use a piece of 9"“x12”“ Bristol board. Use what you have that will make it easy to divide into 12 pieces in the end without too much math! Cardstock, mixed media or watercolor paper are also great choices.

✔️ You might also bring any of the following!…Watercolors, Stencils with some makeup sponge applicators, Stamps and black ink, Colored pencils, Markers, paint pens, Gluestick, Letter stamps/black ink (optional)

✔️ Click here for a Printed PDF of words and dates!>

ABOUT YOUR HOST

Consie Sindet is a Creativity Coach and Teacher at Atop Serenity Hill. She’s been teaching creativity in many forms for 15+ years and before online classes were even a thing, she taught in-person art classes to hundreds of people.

Consie finds that art journaling is the most freeing way to express herself and wants us all to know that we can find freedom, playfulness, and joy by slapping down some paint, gluing magazine pages to a piece of paper, adding doodling & marks, finding a quote that screams…‘THIS IS HOW I FEEL TODAY!”…and calling it good enough. How to make the most of FieldTrips

The FieldTrips experience is defined not only by what the host has to share, but also by how we show up individually and collectively. The way we show up impacts our capacity to be moved, inspired, and activated.

Show up fully

Get ready to be immersed! Engage with smiles, nods, waves, emojis. Share in the chat. Get cozy. Turn off notifications. Sip your favorite beverage.

Stay curious

Wear your beginner’s hat. Go with the flow. Welcome the stumbles and fumbles. Congratulate yourself for trying. Keep going!

Celebrate your host

Our hosts are members of the CreativeMornings community—just like you! Everyone comes to this with different backgrounds—a lot of our hosts have never done anything like this before! And we love that! Cheer them on when something goes awry and when it goes perfectly.

Support each other

We’re all figuring things out in real time. Celebrate, rather than critique emerging ideas. Cheer each other on as you try new things.  Try “Yes! And…” in conversation.

Not vibing?

It’s 100% okay when a FieldTrip does not resonate with you. Pop out quietly and try another experience later. Fill out the survey with your feedback (no dms to host or chat commentary, please.)
