The richest place in the world is a graveyard.
Colleen Eversman, photographer and jane-of-all-trades, talks about approaching fear, tackling inconsistency, staying patient, and starting over well.
About the speaker
Colleen started her journey with photography in 2013 after a friend suggested she second shoot weddings on the side for extra cash. After a season of second shooting, tapping into connections in the advertising world, some old school in person hustle, and conversations with a mentor, Colleen started to see her craft and business come together.
Referring to herself as a âJane of All Tradesâ, Colleenâs work spans across commercial product photography, food, editorial, and lifestyle photography. Sheâs photographed work for national brands like Nike and Target, as well has local companies like Wit & Delight, Hackwith Design House, Artful Living, and is currently working on a cookbook with Jon Wipfli (Minnesota Spoon). Colleen now lives in San Francisco, and is looking forward to the next evolution in her work.

You create consistency through incremental action every single day, consistently.
You do not have to become fearless to kill fear.
If youâre finding yourself being impatient, itâs a really good time for you to reassess, go through what youâre doing with a fine-tooth comb, and figure out whatâs working, whatâs not. Experiment and start over.
The first thing you have to conquer is fear.
Any success I've had has not been aloneâit's been with the help of everybody who's ever believed in me, hired me, or collaborated with me. Remember that when you are building something or trying to start over.
