Chufue answers questions.

Chufue answers questions from the audience after his talk.

About the speaker

Chufue Yang is a creative producer, planner, and multidisciplinary artist based in Minnesota. He currently works as a Creative Operations Planner and Producer at General Mills, where he brings large-scale photo and video productions to life behind the scenes, supporting teams as they navigate complexity, deadlines, and collaboration.

At 28, Chufue is learning what it means to build a creative life in real time. The child of Hmong refugees from Laos and a first-generation American, he grew up with stories of survival and is now writing his own story about access, belonging, and staying in the room.

Alongside his production work, Chufue’s creativity has taken many forms, including acting and storytelling across film, theatre, and commercial spaces. Outside of the work, he mentors students navigating access, belonging, and their early creative careers through The BrandLab and Metro State University. He speaks openly about being “in progress,” trusting the process, and believing that growth often happens quietly — long before it looks like success.
