As a Captain for Camden’s busiest Engine Company, Bobby has to channel calm and focused energy amongst the chaos - it’s often a matter of life or death. In his talk, Captain Bobby shares his lifelong connection with fire - the fascination, the hardship, the challenges and rewards.

About the speaker

Bobby is a second-generation Fireman, born and raised in Collingswood, NJ. He has been a member of the fire service for over 20 years. With the last 13 in the City of Camden Fire Department, he has the opportunity to work in all busy assignments. Currently he’s a Captain assigned to Engine Company #1 at Fire Headquarters, the city’s busiest Engine Company. Bobby has a BS in Public Safety Administration from Neumann University. As a Pro Board Level 2 instructor, he taught all over the country. He recently founded Eckert Fire Tactics, a private fire, and leadership training company with an aggressive street-smart approach to firefighting, which is based solely on experience. Bobby is a lover and collector of antique fire helmets and memorabilia. He has a passion for and rare knowledge of 19th and early 20th century building construction. He’s the patriarch to a blended family that he loves to cook for. Married to the love of his life, Brynlee, father to little Bobby, Ryan, Reese, and stepfather to Kennedy.
