About the speaker
Sasha Maya Ada Davis is a walking ethnic melting pot from South Carolina who discovered her love for the arts while singing non-stop in her mother’s 2002 burgundy Mitsubishi. A graduate of Southern Methodist University, Sasha is now a Dallas-based actor, director and playwright and a proud member of Canterbury Resident Artist Company for The Classics Theatre Project and has performed across the DFW metroplex. She continues her work as a teaching artist for theatres and institutions like the Tony Award-Winning Dallas Theater Center, Southern Methodist University and the Texas region for the National August Wilson Monologue Competition.
After serving as the Artistic Director for Big Thought’s Creative Solutions and Artivism programs, Sasha is beyond thrilled to join the organization as Creative Lead. In this new role Sasha will foster relationships with artists, help create trauma informed artistic curriculum for public school districts and challenge the limitations in with youth can tell their stories in advocacy for reform.
