What is home?

Sometimes we think that home is the house we were born in, or the family…sounds like home is something from the past, something that has to do only with our origins. But home doesn’t have to be a forever fixed object at all. Home is a direction: the direction of return, the idea for a project, a promise to create something, the act of coming up with something that translates ideas into the spaces we live in. So maybe home has something to do with future too. It means that building a home in this other sense is a matter of design: the act of building, of making. Making a home, making a place, creating a space. Home is where your ideas are safe to grow. And to be able to reflect on this, we invited two very different speakers, both involved in different aspects of design, or I would say, different vocations to design. Welcome Francesca Perani and Donatella Caggiano
