Bridget Atkinson speaks on the demise of traditional wayfinding signage.

Bridget talks about how personal journey planning & 3D mapping are driving the demise of traditional wayfinding signage and increasing the importance of placemaking graphics, along with public art and iconic architecture.

About the speaker

Bridget had nine year’s experience as an interior and graphic designer with Woods Bagot, Interbrand, BKH and Landini Associates before joining [Frost Design]http://frostdesign.com.au/ in 2002 as a specialist interior and industrial designer. As Design Director, Bridget has developed signage and graphics for the SA Water Head office in Adelaide, including a 25m mesh atrium installation, as well as façade and foyer supergraphics; collaborated with artist Robert Foster on the Ossalites placemaking installation for ActewAGL, and directed the signage and wayfinding design for the State Library of NSW. Exhibition designs include: Freestyle for Object Gallery and Melbourne Museum, which toured nationally and internationally; and Frostbite a Frost retrospective at the Sydney Opera House.

Bridget is currently working on campus-wide signage strategy and design for the University of Technology Sydney, collaborating with Hassell on workplace environmental graphics for the new ANZ headquarters in Sydney, and with Frasers on signage and graphics to the Atelier Jean Nouvel designed building in Central Park.
