About the speaker

MT-BC Music Therapist at Palm Beach Music Therapy Institute (PBMTI), Business Owner and Radio Personality.

Bree began performing opera, jazz and musical theater as a vocalist at a young age and has continued throughout her adult life. It wasn’t until her working for her mother as a home care companion, did she learn about the field of Music Therapy. Bree earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy with a concentration in voice from Nazareth College in Rochester, NY. After completing a 6-month internship at Hospice of Palm Beach County, Bree earned her board-certification and continued working primarily with hospice patients in residential and medical settings. She also received training and certification from the Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy at Colorado State University. Bree works as a music therapist with seniors with Neurodegenerative Disorders as well as Managing Partner for PBMTI. Over the course of 5 years, Bree was developed and staffed over 50 professional music therapy programs in medical and educational facilities throughout South Florida.

For the past two years, Bree has also hosted the international radio and internet talk show, Connections, focused on creative approaches to healthcare, education, and community. Bree has had the opportunity to share the creative stories of individuals of all ages, abilities, races and religions, from various countries and continents. One of her main passions is facilitating intergenerational connection, particularly between Millenials and the “Greatest Generation”; our grandparents. The true pioneers. This passion is inspired by her friendship with her 95-year-old grandmother.

When not in the field or on air, Bree can often be found volunteering and engaged in community. Currently she serves as the Advisory Council Chair for the Palm Beach and Treasure Coast Aging and Disability Resource Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving seniors, adults with disabilities, and their caregivers, a committee Chair for the West Palm Beach Walk to End Alzheimer’s and a board member with Inspirit, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing the arts to individuals in isolated environments like low-income nursing homes and homeless shelters.
