About the speaker
Bertha Gutierrez is an artist, an outdoor enthusiast, and a cat lover. Originally from El Salvador, she lived almost 15 years in Northwest Arkansas before moving to Las Vegas at the end of 2016. She has fallen in love with the Mojave Desert. Her love for nature and service inspired her career change from the non-profit financial counseling industry to joining Get Outdoors Nevada, where is currently serves as the Volunteer Program Director. Bertha is a graduate from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, AR. She enjoys getting involved in the community and has served as mentor in several programs ranging from high school journalism, to photography and visual arts, to social justice. She is an advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion. She is aunt to 15 nieces and nephews and wants to leave this world a better place for them.
