About the speaker
Babe Haven is a queer punk band known for their riot grrrl attitude and nu-metal edge. Formed in Boone, NC by Lillie Della Penna and Naomi Poesel, the band creates anthems of empowerment and resistance brimming with raw aggression. With a mission to uplift femme, queer, and BIPOC voices, Babe Haven turns every show into a space of radical inclusion and catharsis.
Babe Haven has been setting stages ablaze and selling out shows, quickly becoming an iconic staple in the modern punk scene, shared stages with the likes of Mannequin Pussy, Otoboke Beaver, Soft Play, Teen Mortgage, Pinkshift & Pollyanna. They have also appeared at popular tastemaker festivals such as L7ās Fast and Frightening Takeover, Punk Rock Bowling & Jorts Fest.
Their sophomore album, Nuisance, showcases a bold evolution in soundāblending nu-metal, thrash, and punk into a visceral, genre-defying statement that cements their place as one of punkās most vital rising voices.

The Left Hook Coffee was started from modest holdings, constant curiosity, and with intent to serve good coffee. Welcome to good coffee.

Our global theme for June is Punk.
šø The description of this monthās theme is written in the style of lyrics to a punk rock song. So, feel free to belt them out. š¤ And if you know a band that wants to put them to music, weāll feature their cover of our punk rock anthem here on the CreativeMornings blog. šµ
Does the system feel broken Staring at our screens Not hearing the screams
Wake up wake up wake up
Weāre not meant to go it alone Find your people lift them up Do what you can with what you got
Wake up wake up wake up
Your creativity can save you What you gonna make What you gonna change
Wake up wake up wake up
šø PUNK stands for challenging the status quo, speaking your truth, and making noise when silence isnāt an option. Itās brutal honesty and the messy beauty of doing things your own way. š§·
This month’s theme was chosen by our Bologna chapter in Italy and illustrated by Cristina Portolano.
