About the speaker
Ayanah Moor appropriates and revises existing material to invert and expand meaning. Her creative tools include, printmedia, performance, drawing and video. Moor’s artwork has been addressed in books, Troubling Vision: Performance, Visuality and Blackness; What is Contemporary Art?; and Home Girls Make Some Noise!: Hip Hop Feminism Anthology. Ayanah Moor holds a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University and MFA from Tyler School of Art. She is associate professor in the School of Art at Carnegie Mellon University.
