About the speaker
About Nina Nina is the founder of Kolibri, a mobile yoga studio which mainly offers Stand Up Paddle (SUP) yoga at several lakes as well as indoor pools in Cologne and surroundings. During her studies of Cultural Anthropology, African Studies and Geography in Cologne and Cape Town she started teaching dance classes for children. After graduation in 2012 she decided to continue following her passion for dance and movement by finishing a 500 hrs. yoga teacher programme at IYGK (Insitut für Yoga und Gesundheit Köln). Nina loves to embed her diverse interests into her yoga style. Her turn for water sports and being outdoors made her complete a SUP Yoga teacher training in Florida and since 2015 she offers paddleboard yoga classes in Cologne.
How to deal with anxiety from a yogi’s perspective When it comes to dealing with anything that causes anxiety in you, there are usually three options: Not doing it. Doing it anyways. Doing it differently. All three of them can be supported by certain yoga positions and exercises of which a few will be surveyed in this talk. You’ll learn how to activate the parasympathetic and sympathetic nerve system through hatha yoga and about how sun and moon energies can help you deal with stressful conditions at work or in private life.
