The Many Interpretations of Dark Matter

About the speaker

I am an associate professor of physics and astronomy at The Ohio State University. My group uses the tools of astronomy and astrophysics to answer one of the biggest questions in physics: what is dark matter? I am originally from Seattle, and went to college at the University of Washington. After doing a PhD in physics at Michelle Obama's alma mater (Princeton University), I moved back to the Best Coast for six years to do research at Caltech and UC Irvine. I've been at Ohio State since 2013. My physicist husband and I have one school-aged child and four cats. For fun, I like to learn about everything that isn't physics.
