About the speaker
A commitment is a promise to show up whether you’re having a good or bad day.
It’s a behavior and mindset that signifies the posture of a professional. It’s about saying yes with your whole heart.
This month we welcome Adrian Carver who has committed to creating opportunities for everyone through his work at Equality NM, the largest and oldest LGBTQ+ political advocacy organization in the state.
Wonder what NM politicians support equality? EQNM has you covered. Plus they make some rad rainbow graphics and we are envious.
A ninth generation New Mexican, Adrian is a hardworking and committed advocate who stands with marginalized communities and young people in New Mexico. His creativity and innovation are rooted in his values of social justice and racial healing. Having started as a community organizer in middle school, he has served on a number of boards and been honored with Albuquerque Business First’s top 40 under Forty award, the Fueling Increasingly Relevant Education Award, New Mexico Voices for Children’s Amy Biehl Spirit of Youth Award, and Molina Healthcare’s Community Champion Award.
Creative Startups is the international business accelerator for the creative industries. Creative Startups supports entrepreneurs through business development, fostering international networks and connecting startups to investment.
A world in which oppression is obsolete and all aspects of identity are honored.
Our Mission To be a trusted partner, and to uplift the voices and leadership of our community in creating a reality of equity, full access, and sustainable wellness for LGBTQ New Mexicans.
We Believe That every LGBTQ New Mexican is a vital community member in our Land of Enchantment, that we are more than just our LGBTQ identities, and that the health and wellbeing of LGBTQ New Mexicans is crucial to creating a stronger, more balanced world. This belief compels us to challenge structural and individual barriers that limit our self-determination and ability to thrive.
The Arts & Cultural District creatively supports the arts and culture ecosystem of Downtown Albuquerque. We magnify the reach and capacity of Albuquerque’s innovative organizations and individuals, forging a vibrant and prosperous downtown community for everyone.
Established by Congress in 1965, the NEA is the independent federal agency whose funding and support gives Americans the opportunity to participate in the arts, exercise their imaginations, and develop their creative capacities. Through partnerships with state arts agencies, local leaders, other federal agencies, and the philanthropic sector, the NEA supports arts learning, affirms and celebrates America’s rich and diverse cultural heritage, and extends its work to promote equal access to the arts in every community across America. Visit arts.gov to learn more about NEA.
We will also have a special visit from Mayor Tim Keller who will stop in to hold “office hours” and wants to hear from YOU - the creative community. You constantly wow us with the cool you bring to ABQ, and now you can share your thoughts on how our new administration can support making ABQ the best place for creatives to call home.
