aAron munson talks about filters and how our view of the world shapes our creativity.
About the speaker
'I'm trying to think about filmmaking in an unconventional way.”
aAron Munson is a Canadian filmmaker, cinematographer and multimedia artist. His work has taken him from his personal studio to war zones, high-Arctic weather stations, reindeer nomad camps in Siberia, and the Arabian Desert.
aAron's projects tackle extreme human experiences, both far from and close to home, utilizing film, video, photography and sound to create visual explorations relating to mental illness, memory, and the conscious mind.
aAron is a specialist in visual effects for film, using time-lapse, elapsed time, and frame compositing techniques to capture–and transform–the natural world of our ancestors. His six-foot frame barely disguises the heaviest carry-on bag in the world of air travel, but aAron won’t leave home without at least 20 lenses.
