UNEXPLORED TRADITION & NATURE

Most people associate Romania with Dracula, gypsies and cheap booze. While the last part might be true, it is surprising how little people know about the country. Get ready for a creative morning with Maria, businesswoman, foodie and traveller, as she explores life in Romania and some of the misconceptions with you. In her talk, she will show you her perspective on things and touch upon a multitude of topics: some more serious, such as corruption, the long-lasting impact of communism, stigma and discrimination; but also, some fun topics, such as vampires, funny Romanian expressions and traditional food. ABOUT THE SPEAKER Maria was born and raised in Bucharest, Romania. Like a true girl gone international, she has spent the past 8 years abroad: she lived in the UK, Amsterdam, Berlin and before moving to the cosy Cologne, she travelled around the world for a year. On her professional side, she helps start-ups grow and corporations innovate.
