Robert Graham is a Public Relations and Corporate Communications professional who grew up in the American South, spending his formative years in Charlotte, North Carolina. He then attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, where he graduated with his Bachelor of Arts in English. He pursued his Master of Arts in English at Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) in Portales, New Mexico. Upon graduating, Robert was hired as the Director of Alumni Relations at ENMU. While there, he undertook a massive rebranding initiative to focus on a single mascot that would unify the community while being sensitive to the historical and cultural background of the university and its students. The project not only generated a new revenue stream for ENMU, but it also became an international case study for how to manage cultural appropriation. In addition, he spearheaded the planning and execution of the university’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebrations. In 2017, Robert was given the opportunity to travel abroad to China and work for a global network of schools. This new job gave him the chance to gain valuable international work experience and immerse himself in a new culture. As the director of the newly created Center for Excellence, he proposed a complete overhaul of the school’s curriculum to create a more inclusive, competitive learning environment. These changes improved the marketing position of the school and were later implemented across the entire network, transforming how the organization operated and served its students. Robert returned to the United States in 2020, once again settling in his hometown of Charlotte, NC, and accepted a position with Novant Health in the Department of Public Relations. Since joining, he has played an integral role in elevating the department’s data literacy through his exceptional grasp of analytics and storytelling. He is able to explain complex concepts through succinct visualizations and easily understood terms. Robert excels at driving meaningful change, process improvements, and strategic plans to help organizations thrive. He has always been a servant leader and enjoys spending his free time volunteering with diverse organizations. Over the years, he has volunteered with the American Red Cross, Theater Charlotte, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Animal Care & Control Division, Rotary International, United Way, and Young Affiliates of the Mint. Robert strives to be a good steward for the organizations he works for as well as a mentor to his colleagues. He is an intrepid professional who is committed to empowering businesses to thrive and achieve their goals and objectives through outstanding corporate communications, public relations, and branding efforts.
