Jim Dotson created South Coast Recording Studio in Orange County, California in 1985, engineering and producing many local up-and-coming artists for 10 years. In 1994 Jim was awarded platinum records for The Offspring's CD "Smash", and No Doubt's "Tragic Kingdom" in 1995. In 1993 he relocated to Orlando, where his first project was with Tabitha's Secret - later called Matchbox 20. After almost 15 years in the record business Jim moved into a 12 year position as Media Designer/Producer for Walt Disney Imagineering. Jim was the in-field re-recording mixer and produced sound effects, music, dialog and video for numerous Disney attractions.
In 2009 Jim was led to create his production company, Muskrat Ranch, LLC and continued to do work for Walt Disney Imagineering. EA Sports has contracted him to produce audio for “NCAA Football”, “MADDEN”, “NFL BLITZ”, NBA LIVE" and “Tiger Woods PGA Tour” video games each year. He also provides on-location recording, post-production and audio restoration services for local production companies.
I don't believe in safety nets.
