I design and make jewellery from copper, silver and enamel and teach jewellery making and small-scale metalwork at my studio in Cardiff. I used reclaimed and recycled metals in my work, wherever possible

Jewellery making, enamelling, turning crusty old metal into something pretty and shiny

Finding more stockists for my jewellery and promoting my workshops

To think about the lifestyle you want to live and build a career to give you that (i.e. rather than starting from 'what you want to do')

Surprisingly difficult to answer... When I read Michael Palin's diaries, I was struck by how organised and methodical he is when embarking on a new project, by his singlemindedness in achieving what he wants to and the fact that he isn't afraid to take on something he hasn't done before. I think about this whenever my worklife is getting a bit chaotic.

Always trying to learn from every experience

I used to be a software engineer although my tech skills are pretty rusty now

I'm definitely a learning by doing kind of person so anything practical that I've done lots of times already tends to stick.
