Beata set out for her gastro&hospitality world tour as soon as she turned 15 – she worked anywhere from hotels, bars, restaurants to travel guide company as anything from waitress to beach bar manager.
At one point Beata fell in love with coffee and became a barista, she moved to Prague and started working in La BohĂŠme right away. Soon after their team won The Best Coffeehouse award and everything was going almost too great, Beata knew she needed to leave to learn more.
She packed her stuff and left for Canada. “Hi, I’m Beata, I come from Slovakia and I would love to work for you, here is my CV.” She said as soon as she opened the door to Canada’s oldest coffee roasting company, Elysian Coffee. She received her training that very first day and soon she started training other teams, as well as overseeing client service and quality. As soon as everything got easy and settled, she got offer to help design a new coffeehouse. With very little experience, but a lot of courage, she accepted. In three months, the place was ready and the next year it was voted the 6th best coffee place in Canada. Since then Beata has helped to set up a few more places and still provides them with fresh menus and know-how.
Now, ten years later, she knows she needs another change and she wonders what life will bring her next. Follow her path on benat_ka.
