I approach life with curiosity so I love learning and evolving. In 1982, I founded an ad agency (VertexMarketing.com) and have worked with a variety of government, medical, non-profit, and business clients. I was born in Cuba and am fluent in Spanish so I’ve been fortunate to implement a number of bilingual campaigns. My French has gotten rusty from lack of use over the years. I’ve served as a consultant, public speaker, seminar leader, and voiceover and on-camera talent. Prior to my agency, I worked in marketing research, public relations, and TV production. I volunteer teaching entrepreneurship to students and supporting the arts in schools. For fun I sing and manage jazz/Latin bands (BarbaraEntertains.com) and dance ballroom, tap, swing, and jazz. I serve as a music and entertainment curator planning events and booking talent for festivals and corporate events. Now that I am transitioning out of the long 24/7 agency hours, my hope is to get back to exploring all the creative outlets I’ve had to put on the back burner, like writing, culture, theatre, traveling, and exploring nature. I am blessed to have a loving family, my business partner and husband, and two accomplished daughters who work in the music industry.
