Blocks, Trucks + Art was founded by Angela De Vincenzo, a Learning Specialist whose educational career includes 15 years in New York City’s premiere independent schools. She has studied at NYU, Bank Street College of Education, and Harvard University, and her belief in life-long education means she regularly attends relevant conferences and professional development workshops. Angela’s teaching philosophy and methods are rooted in progressive education. She discovered the power of blocks and the role these simple yet dynamic materials play in both teaching and learning during her tenure at City & Country School in Greenwich Village. Since then, Angela has worked alongside fellow educators to integrate unit blocks into the curriculum at The Chapin School and Packer Collegiate Institute. She has learned and witnessed that providing children with the opportunity to recreate what they know about the world around them fosters deeper, more meaningful learning. The ultimate vision and mission of Blocks, Trucks + Art is to provide children with time and space to explore with open-ended materials to support and encourage engaged, life-long learners.
