October’s here!

This month, we’re excited to announce our theme: “Play.” The theme was chosen by Creative Mornings organiser Jade Tang and the Auckland team, then depicted by Auckland-based illustrator James Stewart for our monthly illustration.

Stay tuned to find out who’ll be speaking at our Melbourne event!

Tess’ background is in design: having worked in publishing, government, and as a solo practitioner in graphic design. She’s also balanced time spent in front of the computer with making handmade accessories and textile products.

Above all, Tess loves facilitating connections between creative folk, and supporting and promoting creatives and their work.

Photos and video of the event will be up soon on our flickr & Facebook!

In 2009, seeking a network of contemporaries in creative small businesses in Melbourne, Tess began coordinating the Creative Women’s Circle and built a dynamic community for women working in creative industries featuring a regular program of popular events, a blog rich with informative and inspiring content and a database profiling a broad network of Australian creative women.

In 2011, combining her love of print publishing with a desire to learn more about women and their creative careers, Tess published Conversations with Creative Women, a book of interviews with female creative practitioners. The second volume of the series is due for release in November 2013.
