Meet our February 2022 CreativeMornings Winnipeg speaker: Sean Rayland!
Boozhoo Nii Bow Sabe Indizinikaaz Migizii Indodem.I said my name is Standing Sasquatch Man and I am from the Eagle Clan.I am an ex gang member, addict, recent graduate from RRC Polytech and the owner of Red Rebel Armour an Indigenous led social enterprise selling authentic Anishinaabe streetwear to fund our social purpose which is a recidivism diversion strategy. In addition to providing employment, we have incorporated Indigenous ways of knowing throughout the organization. This means we reshaped the workplace and incorporated an Indigenous worldview in everything we do.
February’s Global CreativeMornings Theme is Monumental.
When we call something monumental, we mean it as a matter of scale. Societies erect statues and build squares and dedicate memorials to prevent the past from being buried. It can also mean “great in importance, extent or size” and “to make a permanent record of.” What will you bear witness to? What will you leave behind when you’re gone?
Our Richmond chapter chose this month’s exploration of Monumental and Mending Walls to illustrate the theme.
