Sean Rayland: Making Monumental Change – one t-shirt at a time
Sean Rayland: Boozhoo Nii Bow Sabe Indizinikaaz Migizii Indodem. I said my name is Standing Sasquatch Man and I am from the Eagle Clan. I am an ex gang member, addict, recent graduate from RRC Polytech and the owner of Red Rebel Armour an Indigenous led social enterprise selling authentic Anishinaabe streetwear to fund our social purpose which is a recidivism diversion strategy. In addition to providing employment, we have incorporated Indigenous ways of knowing throughout the organization. This means we reshaped the workplace and incorporated an Indigenous worldview in everything we do. I created RRA to inspire Indigenous men to take action and overcome cycles of abuse, addiction, and inter-generational trauma. So they can reclaim their role in the community as leaders and role models. With that being said, RRA is a culmination of tragedy to triumph, resilience, and culture upon which we articulate through our voice, brand, and designs.
